Adobe Acrobat comes with a number of dynamic PDF stamps. You can select them by going to the Comment pane on the right side, then click on the Stamp tool to bring up the list of stamps. All the factory default dynamic stamps are in the “Dynamic” category: What if we need a dynamic stamp that is not in the list?
Add Dynamic Exhibit Stamps in Acrobat using a free stamp set Exhibits are documents attached to pleadings or contracts which are referenced by the main document. Exhibits generally are numbered (1, 2, 3) or lettered (A, B, C) consecutively in the order they are first encountered in the body of the referencing document (brief, contract, etc.).
To create the special PDF Stamp file (downloadable below), I created some artwork in Adobe Illustrator, then converted it to PDF. In Acrobat, I added form fields which have a JavaScript calculation. One script simply adds the current date.
Add the stamp to the document.
Click on the 'Comment' button on the right side of the screen.
Click on 'Add Stamp' button. This button's icon will look like a place marker on a closed up stamp-pad. This will open a drop-down list.
Click on the 'Custom Stamp' option.
Click on 'Create Custom Stamp'. This will open a dialog box, asking you to select the image from a document from a previously-created document.
Click on the 'Browse' button. Select the file you created that contains only the stamp that you'd like to use for the PDF document.
Select the page in your document that you'd like to use as your stamp The Acrobat program should convert the document to the appropriate format so you may edit and add the stamp to your document.
Click the OK button on the initial dialog box. Doing so, will tell the program that the file you selected is indeed the correct file to find the newly-created stamp in.
Categorize, name and save your new stamp into one of the few categories Acrobat has you place all new stamps in.

Creating a dynamic stamp in Acrobat enables you to add a personal touch to your business documents. Such stamps tell your associates that they're dealing with you and not some faceless force. A custom dynamic stamp serves the same purpose as a physical stamp, but adds two major improvements. First, it shows whatever image you choose. Second, the stamp can change content in ways that you specify. For example, you can make a stamp that shows your signature and the time at which you inserted the stamp. You can create a dynamic stamp by creating a custom stamp file with a text field and inserting JavaScript code into that field.
1.
Open in Acrobat a document to which you'd like to add a custom dynamic stamp. Click the 'Annotations' command of the View menu's Comment submenu. Acrobat displays the Annotations panel.
2.
Click the Annotation panel's stamp icon and then click the Custom submenu's 'Create' command.
3.
Click the 'Browse' button of the Select Image dialog box and then select the image you want to use for your stamp. For example, choose a photo of you or your signature. Click 'OK' and then click the 'Dynamic' category on the dialog box's next screen. Enter a name for your stamp and then click 'OK' to create the stamp file, which will be a PDF file in this folder:

Enter in the Custom text area the JavaScript code that you want Acrobat to execute when you insert the custom stamp. For example, if you want to display the current date and time, paste the following code into the Custom text area. Adobe's JavaScript for Acrobat page has detailed information about how to use JavaScript code in Acrobat.
event.value = (new Date()).toString();
AFDate_FormatEx('h:MM tt, mmm dd, yyyy');
8.
Save the stamp file and then navigate back to the document in which you want to insert your custom stamp. Click the Annotations panel's stamp icon and then click the 'Dynamic' category. Your stamp's thumbnail appears.
9.
Click the location where you want to insert the stamp. Acrobat displays the stamp where you clicked, including the content created by the JavaScript code you associated with the stamp.
Tip
The Stamps folder under your Adobe installation folder has existing dynamic stamps that you can copy and customize. Locate that folder under the Plug_ins/Annotations subfolder.
